Research tracker
Court-Ordered Course & Provider Requirements
This tracker helps BUSI separate courses we can teach as educational support from courses that require Texas licensing, court approval, or written referral-agency acceptance.
Research snapshot: June 16, 2026. Always confirm with the ordering court, probation officer, agency, or current state rules before advertising a course as court-approved.
Important Use Rule
BUSI should not advertise any class as "court-approved," "state-approved," "probation-approved," or "accepted by Bexar County" unless BUSI has the required license, endorsement, accreditation, provider approval, or written acceptance for that exact course and court/referral context.
Can build now
BUSI may continue building educational support classes, response workbooks, case notes, attendance records, and certificate review controls.
Needs written acceptance
Anger management, decision-making, life skills, and community stewardship may need written acceptance from the specific court, probation office, or referring agency.
Needs state pathway
DWI, drug offense, alcohol education for minors, defensive driving, and BIPP-style programs should not be offered as court-approved until the state/provider pathway is complete.

Bexar / San Antonio Verification Workflow
- Identify the exact court or referral source: San Antonio Municipal Court, Bexar County Justice of the Peace, County Court, District Court, CSCD/probation, agency, employer, or attorney referral.
- Ask for the exact order wording. Do not assume "anger class" means the same thing as BIPP, DWI education, or another licensed course.
- Ask whether the person must use an approved provider list, state-licensed provider, or any provider accepted by the court.
- Prepare a BUSI packet: curriculum outline, facilitator credentials, attendance policy, certificate sample, intake/agreement, privacy policy, and completion standards.
- Get written acceptance before using any court-approved language.
- Save the approval or referral email with the BUSI participant reference.
BUSI Court Acceptance Packet

Official Sources to Recheck Before Launch
Because requirements can change, recheck these links before BUSI applies for a license, accepts a court referral, or publishes court-approved claims.
The Texas HHS website may block automated checks, so BUSI should confirm BIPP requirements manually before offering any family-violence-related class.
